The house was built in 1937. It is located in a small and peaceful village near Sertã and Cernache do Bonjardim in central Portugal.
The property comprises the stone house with a total area of 66 m2, and an outbuilding with 61,2 m2 which could be converted into a garage or a storeroom. An iron front gate and a stairwell give access to the house on the right-hand side and to an area at the top of the stairs which could be converted into a small indoor courtyard or a container garden.
The storeroom is situated to the left of the entrance gate.Arranged over the first floor are three bedrooms, a living-room/dining-room, a hallway, a bathroom and a kitchen.
At the back of the cottage there is an area belonging to the property which could be used for a house extension. The floorboards cannot be saved and the property needs reroofing, rewiring and possibly replumbing, but it is connected to the grid, has a septic tank and mains water.
In any renovation project, connection to the grid is generally a large expense to budget for, but not in this case. On the ground-floor there are two storerooms which can currently be entered into from the street, but it would be possible to convert both into more living space with stairs linking the first and the ground-floor.
Conveniently located within easy reach of the IC8 road and close to the towns of Sertã (10 minutes) and Cernache do Bonjardim (8 minutes) for all local amenities.
To Lisbon – 2 hours
To Porto – 2 ½ hours
To Abrantes, Pombal, Coimbra and Tomar - 40 minutes
